Former Warrior Matt Eshleman Signs Pro Contract With Florence Freedom

STERLING, KAN. – Former Warrior Standout Matt Eshleman has signed a pro contract with the Florence Freedom of the Frontier League.

Based out of Florence, Kentucky, the Freedom are a part of the Frontier League, which is a professional independent baseball organization comprised of 14 teams all over the Midwest.

Eshleman spent the 2013 season with the Fort Worth Cats of the United Baseball League, posting a 2-1 record with a 3.05 ERA in 18 relief appearances with two saves. He struck out 22 batters in 20.2 innings while only walking eight.

While at Sterling, Eshleman was the 2012 Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference reliever of the year posting 7-1 record with 1.58 ERA. During the 2013 season, Eshleman posted a 2-1 record with 13 saves to help lead the Warriors to their first appearance in the NAIA World in Lewiston, Idaho.
