Nostalgia and Thoughts Good or Best Friend?

Differences between a good or best friend:
my BFF sent these to me:
You say: “I’m hungry.”
Your BFF buys you peanut clusters.”
You say: “I’m bored.”
Your BFF says “Road Trip”.
A BFF never sees you cry, their
shoulder is wet from your tears.

I went shopping with my BFF awhile back and we were driving down a county road headed to lunch in Yoder. We noticed a big beautiful field of tall corn that looked ready to be picked. I asked her if she wanted me to stop so she could go into the field and pick some.
She asked me if I would come and help her. I told her I would be in the car waiting and watching for the cops. She wanted to know what I would do if I saw a cop coming down the road? I told her if I saw a cop coming toward us I would leave so I wouldn’t be caught stealing corn.
She then wanted to know if I knew the definition of a good friend and a best friend. I said that a good friend would be the one to bail her out but wouldn’t go to jail with her. That good friend would be me; I would happily bail her out of jail. Probably be chuckling all the time but would pay her bail all the same.
I saw a cartoon about that very question one time and loved it. A good friend would be supportive and watch for the police but not get involved with the crime. Your best or true friend will be sitting in the jail cell beside you on the bunk saying “that was one heck of a good time and it was fun to be there with my best friend”.
We discussed what each of us would do and I finally had to tell her that I would be right with her in the cell. Even though I was only the lookout and driving the getaway car, I would be an accomplice for the corn theft, if I had stopped for her to get some. We had a good laugh thinking about her or both of us being hauled off and sitting side by side on the cot in jail for stealing ears of corn.
I can actually see the scene in my mind: me sitting in the car watching for the cops and my BFF in the field picking corn. Probably yelling at me all the time trying to get me to come in and help her. I would be telling her someone needed to be the lookout, which wouldn’t make her very happy.
So there I would be in the car watching for trouble to roll in and catch her in the field and me the lookout in the car. (This would not have got me off the hook I told her.) But while we were discussing it and what we would do, I told her someone needed to be able to bail her out of jail; I could do that if I left and I wasn’t arrested as an accomplice.
What a silly crime to be stealing corn out of a field when you can buy it from the stand here in town and all you have to do is cook it, not the hard work of picking it. But we had a good laugh as we passed on by the cornfield. We drove on down the road discussing what a good friend would do and what the Best Friend or BFF would do in the situation.
We got a good chuckle out of this because we are both the type of person who wouldn’t take a glass of water that wasn’t ours or didn’t buy something else to go with it. But we all have a little wild child in us and it was fun to talk about what the other one would have done.
We’d left the field of corn far behind us before I remembered the good friend or best friend cartoon I saw one time and the difference in the two, but there is actually three kinds of friends. A good friend calls you in jail to see how you are doing. A great friend bails you out of jail. But a BFF is sitting beside you in the cell saying “boy that was a lot of fun, I am glad we did that together”.
So what kind of friend are you? Would you call and see how your friend is doing in jail or be there to bail them out or would you be sitting beside your friend in the jail cell saying what a grand time you had and waiting for someone to come and bail you and your BFF out?
