Hutchinson, KS – Hutchinson area residents in search of fresh, home-grown vegetables need look
no further than Hutchinson Regional Medical Center where the annual Farmers’ Market gets
underway 7 a.m.—Noon, Thursdays from now through August. The Farmers’ Market is located
on the lower level of the hospital, in front of Conference Rooms B and C.
Area farmers and gardeners will provide an assortment of vegetables and produce that may
include everything from corn to squash to potatoes. Also, other items offered may include fresh
eggs and baked goods.
The event is sponsored by the Hutchinson Regional Wellness Committee, a group made up of
Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System employees committed to the promotion of healthy
Kevin Miller, F.A.C.H.E., President and CEO of Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System,
lauded the organization’s Wellness Committee for their efforts to encourage a healthy lifestyle
for the 1,400 healthcare professionals employed within the system.
“As the summer gets into high gear, the Farmers’ Market will provide a weekly venue for area
residents to purchase fresh vegetables, and during August, we can hope there will be a bumper
crop of watermelons and cantaloupes in Reno County,” Miller said.
The Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System Farmers’ Market is not affiliated with a similar
event held on Saturdays in downtown Hutchinson.
Hutchinson Regional Medical Center is a member of the Hutchinson Regional Healthcare
