Elaine Lierly Jones, pastel artist of Gardner, Kansas, will be the artist-in-residence at the Red Barn Studio Museum, 212 S. Main St., Lindsborg, Tuesday, June 14 through Sunday, July 3. Elaine says she is especially looking forward to her stay at the Red Barn this year because it is her “refuge for creativity.” She will be focusing on completing pastels for her upcoming show at the Sandzén Gallery in February 2017. Her work was featured at the Prairie Art Exhibition and Auction as part of the Symphony in the Flint Hills event June 11th. Also one of her pastels will be on display at the Coutts Museum of Art in El Dorado in their new invitational exhibit-“30 Women Artists Paint Kansas” from May 3 to July 2. Elaine Lierly Jones says, she “can’t wait to see everyone… and of course paint my heart out!” Every year that Lierly Jones returns for her residence at the Red Barn Studio, she has added to her already long, list of local, regional and national awards and honors that she has won for her work.
