Newton: Scott Metzler Achieves Chief Fire Officer Designation

Fire/EMS Chief Scott Metzler has earned his credentialing as a Chief Fire Officer by the Center for Public Safety Excellence. The Center for Public Safety Excellence is the foremost professional credentialing body in the fire service, and provides organizational accreditation and credentialing throughout the world. The Chief Fire Officer program is a challenging peer review process that measures the candidate’s performance against international standards in many aspects of the fire and emergency services competencies and community impact. There are only 1,186 CFOs world wide and 23 in Kansas. Metzler recently presented on Leading the Multi-Generational Fire Service at the Fire Leadership Challenge, which was part of the Colorado State Fire Chiefs Conference in Keystone, Colorado.
