Camp Quality serves children with cancer and their families by providing year-round programs, experiences, and companionship, at no cost. Camp Quality promotes hope and inspiration while helping children foster life skills and develop their full potential.
Camp Quality Kansas is a 100% volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Their aim is two-fold: to give children a week of new experiences, and to give their families a break from the routine of taking care of a sick child.
Camp Quality’s goals are:
- To create a stress free environment that offers exciting activities, foster new friendships, and helps give children courage, motivation, and emotional strength.
- To give families of children with cancer a much needed rest, knowing that the highest quality program has been selected, to keep their child happy, a companion has been assigned to ensure their safety, and most importantly, the finest medical supervision has been provided at every camp.
- To give the child hope for the future, in that the camping experience will be such fun, they will look forward to and anticipate their next camp, and that the memories, from their special week will sustain them in the weeks, months, and years ahead as they continue their medical treatment.
Camp Quality KS is anticipating 45 children, ages 4-17 during this years’ summer camp. Camp Quality’s unique 1-1 ratio allows Campers and Companions to develop a special bond that sometimes lasts for years. As Camp Quality KS gears up for camp 2015 they are in need of companions, especially males. Companions must be at least 18 years of age, attended the mandatory training class and pass a background check. If you would like to be a part of making a child laugh, and forget even for just a week what they are enduring, then Camp Quality may be for you.
Camp Quality depends solely on the community for support. Our goal is not to turn a child away that wants to attend camp.
Camp Quality Kansas has a four star rating from Charity Navigator and has been awarded the Children’s Oncology Camping Association International Gold Ribbon Award for the past two years.
