Choosing the Perfect Christmas Tree

With the holidays approaching, it is already time to start decorating for the season. The Christmas tree is often the focal point with its sparkling lights and its fresh aroma of pine. Here are some tips and tricks to help you pick out the perfect tree that will last through the holiday season:

  • Look for a tree with dark colored needles that oozes sap when the needles are broken apart or squeezed.
  • Tree branches and needles should be flexible enough to bend without breaking. Needles should not easily fall off the branches.
  • Avoid purchasing a tree that was cut too early and dried out. The needles will have a dull, grayish-green color, will feel stiff or brittle, and will easily fall off the tree.

At the end of the holiday season, remember to recycle your tree at our office unless you choose to plant it on your property to enjoy for years to come!
