Hutchinson, KS – Lori Hartnett, CCC/L-SLP, has been named Director of Rehab Services at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center (HRMC), effective immediately.
Hartnett joined HRMC in 2009 as a Speech Therapist and was named the department’s interim director in 2013.
As the Director of Rehab Services, Hartnett will supervise a staff of 30 and manage the hospital’s physical, speech, and occupational therapy treatment programs, and provide staffing support for Ray E. Dillon Living Center and Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County.
Hartnett received an undergraduate degree from Kansas State University in Speech, followed by a Master’s degree from Wichita State University in Speech Language Pathology.
Prior to joining HRMC, Hartnett spent three years (2006-2009) with the Reno County Educational Cooperative following a two year stint (2004-2006) with the Rice County Special Education Services in Lyons.
“As the old expression goes, attitude is contagious, and in Rehab Services at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, we work each day to act as the patients’ cheerleader to provide encouragement to help them realize how each step forward points to a path of recovery,” Hartnett said. “It is most gratifying for those who of us employed in Rehab Services to see the daily progress of the patients we serve.”
Hartnett and her husband, Evan, are the parents of four children.
Kevin Miller, F.A.C.H.E., President and CEO of Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System, said Hartnett brings five years experience to her new role as Rehab Services Director.
“In our employment searches for department heads at Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System, it is refreshing when one of our own with the credentials and qualifications required to manage a department of this magnitude steps forward to apply.” Miller said. “Lori did an admirable job as interim director which made the decision to promote an easy one.”
Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County and Ray E. Dillon Living Center are members of the Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System. Other members include Horizons Mental Health Center, Health-E-Quip and the Hutchinson Regional Medical Foundation.
