Harvey County Free Fair

I encourage everyone to come out to the Harvey county fair this August 4-8. There will be things for the whole family to enjoy. The popular night attractions are the rodeo, carnival, bull blow out and demolition derby. On Friday August 4th, the 127th annual Harvey County Fair will start.

There are several different types of 4-H attractions at the fair from the livestock, wood working, rocketry, arts and crafts. The 4-H kids work all year on their projects to get them ready for the county fair and then hope to qualify for the state fair. In order to qualify for the state fair they have to get a blue ribbon at the county fair. I encourage everyone to come out and see what the 4-H kids have been very hard on this year.

The country fair has a big variety of attractions for about everyone. We kick of the entertainment with the Newton saddle club rodeo on Friday night. On Saturday there is a kids pedal pull and turtle race in the morning. In the evening the parade and the Newton Saddle Club rodeo is a great way to spend the evening with the family.

On Sunday we have the Newton demolition derby and on Monday is the Bull blow out. On Tuesday is the Livestock & Champion Food sale, when 4-Her’s sell their animals for premium.

So if you don’t have any plans for next weekend I hope you can make it out to the Harvey County Fair!
