Enjoy bald eagle viewing at Lake Ogallala
Bald eagles can be seen year-round in Nebraska, but winter and early spring are the best times to see large numbers of eagles. A great place to go right now is the Lake Ogallala Eagle Viewing Center located below Kingsley Dam.
The center is open for eagle viewing on weekends in January and February from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stop by at 9 a.m. or 12 p.m. for a fun, informative presentation by the park naturalist, followed by open viewing of the eagles and crafts for the kids. Ever wanted to learn how to ice fish? Now’s your chance, with four upcoming clinics to teach you the basics.
Also, the Beyond Becoming an Outdoors-Woman program is hosting a women’s ice fishing workshop on Jan. 13 at the Valentine National Wildlife Refuge lakes.
