El Dorado Resident places ninth in world’s toughest foot race

George Myers participated in the Badwater 15 ultramarathon, an invitational only race, featuring 97 runners from 19 nations. The event was held in the Baldwater Basin of California’s Death Valley. The ultramarathon was completed in 28 hours and 18 minutes which earned Myers ninth place overall. Myers started running eight years ago but has found that the ultramarathon fits his personality well. The course starting at 279 feet below sea level and ending at an elevation of 8,360 at Whitney Portal.
