Eli McKee and Coach Jason Grider of Halstead and Garrett Roth of Hesston have all been selected to represent the West squad in the 43rd annual Kansas Shrine Bowl, to be played on July 30 in Welch Stadium at Emporia State University.

Coaches nominate the players and then selections for the Shrine Bowl are made by a vote of statewide media.

Eli McKee, a Halstead High School senior quarterback and free safety, lead the Dragons to the Class 3A playoff semifinals for the second straight season.

Senior Garrett Roth served the Hesston Swathers as an all-around player. He was an offensive and defensive lineman, carried the ball occasionally, kicked and punted.

After finishing the season with a 12-1 record, Coach Jason Grider of Halstead will be an assistant coach on the West squad for the bowl game.
