Newton Rebels and Wichita Alumni fight to stay alive

Two Kansas teams are fighting to stay in the game in today’s 3rd round of the NBC World Series. Newton Rebels will face off with the Denver Cougars at 4pm while the Wichita Alumni take one Cape Girardeau Capahs in the following game.

Newton started the tournament with a win over Wichita Alumni  on Saturday before losing  to the  Wellington Heat 13-1 last night.

Wichita Alumni lost their opening round game to Newton despite having former major leaguer Nate Robertson on the mound. Nate a Wichita native went 3 innings in the start giving up 5 hits and one run on the night. The Alumni fared better in their second game defeating the Kansas Cannons 7-1.
1pm – San Diego Force vs. Austin Action

4pm – Denver Cougars vs. Newton Rebels

7pm – Wichita Alumni vs. Cape Girardeau Capahs

10pm – Inland Empire vs. Puerto Rico Collegiate
