Seven Sporting Kansas City Academy players Commit to Universities

Seven players from the Sporting Kansas City Under-18 Academy team will continue their careers on college campuses across the country this fall. Last Wednesday marked the initial signing date for prospective student-athletes and the following SKC Academy products have committed to collegiate programs:

Will Little (N.C. State, NCAA Division I): Little is enjoying a standout season for the SKC Academy U-18s with six goals scored in 13 games. Last year, he tallied seven goals in 19 games played for the SKC Academy U-18s. Little is the first SKC Academy player to commit to N.C. State and is one of seven current Academy players training with the Swope Park Rangers.

Ryan Kellogg (West Virginia, NCAA Division I): Kellog has played 42 games for the SKC Academy U-18s in the past two years with two goals scored. The Parkville, Missouri native is one of two current SKC Academy players to commit to West Virginia and joins three other Academy players on the Mountaineers roster.

Absalom Solorio (Niagara, NCAA Division I): Solorio is the second member of his family to commit to Niagara in the past two years. He has appeared in 37 games in the past two years between the U-16 and U-18 squads.

Logan Lucas (West Virginia, NCAA Division I): The left-footed defender from Lee’s Summit has been a staple of the SKC Academy U-18 defense over the past two years. Lucas has appeared in 39 games and tallied five goals. He joins Kellogg as the current second SKC Academy player to commit to West Virginia.

John Leisman (Yale, NCAA Division I): Leisman is the first SKC Academy player to commit to Yale after making 33 appearances over the past two years between the U-18s and U-16s. He scored four goals during the 2014-15 season for the U-16s.

Andrew McLeod (Northwestern, NCAA Division I): McLeod joins a Northwestern side that finished .500 in Big Ten play in 2015. The Blue Valley North High School senior scored five goals for the SKC Academy U-16s during the 2014-15 season.

Dakota Karns (Missouri State, NCAA Division I): Karns is the second member of the SKC Academy to join Missouri State in the past two years after Andrew Dittemore committed to the Bears last year. Karns led the SKC Academy U-16s in scoring with seven goals during the 2013/14 season and added tallied three goals for the U-18s during the 2014/15 campaign.
