RIGHTEOUS ANGER

I FOUND NOTHING ABOUT RIGHTEOUS ANGER WHEN

I WENT LOOKING FOR A GOOD SAYING.

THERE IS A TIME FOR EVERYTHING UNDER HEAVEN.

I AM ANGRY AND I WILL NOT APOLOGIZE FOR IT.

Roger Ringer

I hate thieves. I was angered by the fact that a rancher had 100 head of cattle stolen last week in Oklahoma. Then there is another report of 38 head stolen down there. There is no excuse and I hope that these worthless examples of humanity will soon be enjoying a long stay in the state pokey.

But I am truly angered by the report of two fire trucks being stolen from the Redbird Oklahoma Fire Department. Never heard of Redbird FD? Neither had I, but in the rural areas of a lot of the country there are small fire stations that set in the seeming middle of nowhere waiting to be the first to respond to emergencies.

These small fire departments are manned by a handful of volunteers mostly farmers and ranchers and yes, retired people. One thing I have found over the years is that no matter who you are no matter if you live in an area or just are passing through, when you need help you expect it to be there.

Last week some lowlifes broke into the Redbird Fire Station and stole two grassfire/brush fire trucks. For a day the search was on. Everyone hoped it was just some snotty kids going for joy rides. Well it was not. Both trucks have been found in a remote area stripped and totaled.

I am angry. Do not talk me out of it. For some drinking or drug money the area was without close response fire and rescue service. Neighboring communities are covering but the time factor cannot be changed. The TAXPAYERS who foot the bill for these things are on the hook for over $100,000 to replace the trucks and equipment. YES I SAID OVER $100,000. It is not just like going down to the local dealer and picking out a truck. It is specking out heavy duty trucks and then putting all of the equipment that it needs to be a fire truck.

The trucks had been fairly new. So any funds that were being built up to replace the units when their time comes is probably empty now.

Do not give me any platitudes about how anger is not a good thing. It should be a motivator to quit raising selfish morons and enabling them to endanger their neighbors and families by doing really stupid stunts like this.

I hope that the jury is sufficiently angry to let these twerps be placed into a structured setting for a long time and that their rehabilitation takes a long time.

Anger is a good thing.
