Thursday, September 3, Fairfield Middle School Explore Skills class competed in a challenge to create a device to protect a chicken egg from breaking when dropped from a set height. The students were divided into groups of three. Team chose from a limited amount of supplies to build a protection device. Each team dropped their devices starting at 3 feet and increasing by 3 feet after each drop. The winning device by the Smurfs (Madi Spence, Maddison Hall, and Tim Koehne) protected the egg up to 21 feet on grass.
