In the wake of a community outcry following a misunderstanding about regulations at Elmwood Cemetery, the Augusta City Council temporarily suspended enforcement of the cemetery rules. The Council appointed an ad hoc committee to review the cemetery’s regulations and policies, most of which were put into place nearly 40 years ago. The committee will present a report to the Council on July 5.
