With only 38 seconds on the clock Halstead High coach Grider trusted tailback Blake Beckett and his offensive line to take care of business.  And that precisely what they did.  Blake ground out a 7-yard game-winning touchdown with two would be tacklers along for the ride. The touchdown capped a 78 yard drive and secured the victory and a District 11 championship.

Halstead (7-2, 2-1) plays Southeast of Saline (7-2) at home Tuesday.

Trinity Catholic (8-1, 2-1) finishes as District 11 runner-up and will face Hesston (9-0) Tuesday.

Both teams qualified for the playoffs with a little help from Garden Plain who stunned Kingman 24-0 just one week after losing 58-0 to Halstead.
