A 10 by 12-foot wooden room that was adjacent to the Kingman Co-op grain elevator, located at Main Street and West Sherman Street, caught on fire after repairmen left the building. The workers had been working to remove a dust collector from the west side and an old rail spout from the south side of the building using an acetylene torches. Kingman Fire Department was called to the scene of the work fire. The concrete barrier between the room and the grain elevator prevented any damage to the elevator from the smoke and fire.
