El Dorado: Mary Ann Garrett was sentenced Tuesday in Butler County District Court to more than four years in prison for using a shower head to severely burn a two-year old with hot water last fall. Deputies arrested Garret in December for child abuse, aggravated battery and interfering with a law enforcement investigation. The arrest stemmed from the investigation that began in October. Prior to Tuesday’s sentencing, Garrett was found guilty on charges of felony child abuse and interfering with an investigation after she lied to police about what happened. Garrett initially blamed her three-year-old granddaughter for causing second and third-degree burns to the two-year-old.
