The Harvey County Historical Museum invites the public on Sunday, April 17 at 2:00 to the film “Prejudice and Pride (1965-1980),” followed by a discussion led by Dr. Valerie Mendoza of the American Studies Department at University of Kansas. The program is at the museum, 203 N. Main, Newton. The short film documents the movement of Latino Americans to organize labor and form a “Chicano” identity with hopes of achieving political equality. The film and discussion are free thanks to sponsorship from the Kansas Humanities Council and the American Library Association.
