Lila Jean Stelter, 86, of Haven, Kansas, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 at Haven House.  She was born October 16, 1934 in Haven, the daughter of Charley and Geneva (Moreland) Dickerson. 

Lila graduated from Haven High School with the class of 1952.

She was united in marriage to Carl C. Stelter on January 1, 1952 in Huntsville, Arkansas.  They were married nearly 70 years.

Lila and Carl raised five children in Haven, where she was a homemaker, a very talented seamstress and fantastic cook, especially known for her delicious homemade cinnamon rolls.  Lila sold Avon for many years and worked as a secretary for Packaging Corporation of America.  She was a lifelong member of the Haven United Methodist Church, serving on many committees in the church including the memorials committee and heading up the funeral dinners for many years.

Lila is survived by her husband, Carl C. Stelter; daughters, Carla (Monte) Long of South Hutchinson, Debra (David) Craighead of Fulton, Missouri, and Kathie Hathaway of Ottawa; son, Kurt (Dana Deardeuff) of Wichita; five grandchildren, Brooke Kirmer of Wichita, Chad (Libby) Long of Maize, Adam Hathaway of Lawrence, Andrea (Tyler) Fredricks of Ottawa, and Garrett Stelter of Wichita; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Sharon Twietmeyer-Perry of Wichita and Charlene Heim of Haven; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Sherri Kirmer Stringer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Haven United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow at Laurel Cemetery, Haven.  Family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 5, at Ott Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Haven United Methodist Church or Kindred Hospice in care of Ott Funeral Home, PO Box 217, Haven, Kansas 67543.
