The Barton Community College men’s soccer team bounced back from its first loss of the season with a come-from-behind 2-1 win Tuesday at Johnson County Community College.  The Cougars trailed 1-0 at halftime but rallied to tie it up just seven minutes into the second frame and getting the game winner at the sixteen minute mark. The victory improves Barton to 3-1 in conference play and 8-1 overall while Johnson County drops to 0-2 in the Jayhawk and 4-3-1 on the season.  The Cougars next contest will come Saturday in Dodge City as the Barton takes on Dodge City Community College for a 7:00 p.m. kick-off.

The Cavaliers got on the scoreboard first scoring just over seven minutes into the contest.  The Cougars turned the tide in the second half matching the Cavaliers’ early attack tying the game just inside seven minutes as Sergio Ribeiro picked up his first career goal on Jiro Barriga Toyama‘s fifth assist of the season.

Renan Sousa gave the Cougars the game winner with sixteen minutes remaining as the two-time conference player of the week delivered the unassisted shot for his eighth goal and 26th point of the season.
