The Barton Community College volleyball team had its five-game winning streak snapped Thursday night at the Barton Gym as the Cougars fell 3-1 to an experienced Ottawa University JV squad.  The Braves, who brought five juniors and a senior, took the first set 25-18 but the Cougars rebounded to even the match with a 25-19 win.  Breaking a thirteen all tie, Ottawa built a three point lead then held off the Cougars for a 25-21 win then led for most of the decisive fourth to snap Barton’s win streak with the match clinching 25-18 victory.  Barton slips to 5-4 on the season while Ottawa improves to 2-1.   The Cougars will take the weekend off before resuming conference play on Monday as Barton travels to Pratt Community College for a 6:30 p.m. first serve.
