No bids have been submitted to the State of Kansas to buy the marina at Cheney Reservoir, leaving the reservoir’s 600,000 yearly visitors without services. The Kansas Department of Wildlife blames the marina’s poor condition. For now, the state is working with a vendor to operate a convenience store next to the lake for the July 4th weekend. The long term plan involves working to reopen the marina.
