The Newton City Commissioners plans to include additional funds for parks maintenance

The City of Newton Park Department has seen 67% increase in the number of acres it maintains but the increase in the budget has only been 30% as a result the department is no longer able to replace playground equipment when they wear out or become unsafe. The City Commissioners are hoping to change this gap in the include of an additional $50,000 for parks.
