The Barton County Sheriff’s Office announced on Monday that Steve Billinger has been appointed as the new lieutenant of the Barton County Sheriff’s Office.
Billinger is a long-time resident of Barton County and has served in law enforcement since 1981. Billinger recently retired after 26 years of service with the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The lieutenant is third in command at the Sheriff’s Office behind the Sheriff and the Undersheriff.
