Tate Kaufman, a 2016 Halstead High School graduate, accepted a $2,000 University Scholar Award and a $900 Academic Opportunity Scholarship in communication studies from Fort Hays State. Tate is the son of Von and Marla Kaufman, Halstead and plans to major in communication studies.
