Lindsborg, Kan. – For the second-straight year, the McPherson College women’s tennis team has been crowned KCAC Regular Season Champions.  The 8-1 victory over Bethany College on Tuesday solidifies their No. 1 seed for the upcoming conference tournament.

It was a breeze for the doubles points for Mac as they gave up just two points to their counterparts.  The Vorhees sisters took down BC’s top duo 8-0 while the No. 2 and No. 3 positions won 8-1.

In singles, Brooke Vorhees had the quickest match which gave the ‘Dogs a 4-0 advantage; the senior won 6-3, 6-2. Chandler Short brought the clinching point at No. 6, winning 6-2, 6-3.  Three of the other four matches went to MC with little resistance.  McPherson’s lone loss came at the No. 5 position in a tough, marathon match.

It’s on to the postseason tournament for the Bulldogs which is scheduled for Friday, April 24 in Wichita, Kansas.  As the top seed, McPherson will face No. 4 Kansas Wesleyan University in the opening round.  Currently the tourney is set to be played at the Riverside Racquet Club but things could change depending on Mother Nature.
