“IF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN IN A REAL TRAGIC OR SAD SITUATION,

THE WORDS THAT COME OUT ARE HOPELESSLY INADEQUATE

AND KIND OF CLICHED.”

Erika Slezak

Once again it has happened, innocent life taken for no other reason than a complete selfish fool wanted to inflict pain. Now everyone with an agenda steps forward to rant and rave. Would you expect me to do the same? After all it is my job to comment.

Sorry, I am just sick. There is no outrage about what governments should do. I don’t believe that the answer lies in people like Bozo O’Rourke. I am not going to shout at God for allowing things like this to happen in this world. Evil is a choice. This young man chose evil. I believe he is now realizing what he did to himself and others.

There are so many things that brought this evil to this point at this time and this place. Try as I might my words are inadequate to encapsulate why this tragedy took place. Why 19 children and 2 teachers died. I can not begin to bring solace or hope.

Within a day just 80 miles away from Ulvade a school district shut down when a copycat plot to shoot up a school was uncovered. An arrest was made, weapons seized, and a plan foiled. What possibly can drive people to believe that this is some way to get attention? Thank God they did get attention before they did another horrible act. The same thing happened in Hutchinson, Kansas. Thank God they stopped him from shooting up a Dillons store.

What enrages me is the expected political slime fights for the microphone to push simplistic solutions to complex problems. Sound bites, yelling, and screaming has never brought anyone together yet.

Since I started to write this there has been a rash of shootings, it is like evil is having a competition with itself. Some believe that this is just an evil visited on the United States. This while Russia is destroying a neighbor and in Africa 50 people were killed in an attack on St. Francis Catholic Church. They were shot and bombed.

Do you see a sickness all around the world where life is not respected anymore? We are asked to pray for those killed in a school yet God cannot be prayed to in the school.

Is there a problem with values when we are outraged that children are killed and yet the same people are outraged that we might stop, or slow down, killing children in the womb?

If you feel as inadequate as I, please just join me in prayer.
