Sterling College signs articulation agreement with Southwest Baptist University’s doctor of physical therapy program

0

Students graduating with a bachelor’s degree in health science: pre-physical therapy from Sterling College now have an advantage in their pursuit of doctoral work. Those students have been guaranteed through a newly developed articulation agreement that their undergraduate classes will fulfill the prerequisite course requirements for the doctor of physical therapy program at Southwest Baptist University.

“Physical therapy is an important healthcare field. Sterling College students wanting to pursue a career in physical therapy have an additional door open to them as a result of this articulation agreement that says our students will earn preference points toward entrance into Southwest Baptist University’s D.P.T. program,” said Dr. Gregory P. Kerr, vice president for academic affairs.

Twenty SC students have declared health science: pre-physical therapy as their major with the program in its second year.

“We are pleased with the number of students who have already entered the health science program. We knew it was a field of study that our current and prospective students were interested in, so we are pleased at its fast-paced growth. I hope our students will take advantage of the agreement between Southwest Baptist and Sterling College,” said Kerr.

Sterling College is a Christ-centered, four-year college located in Sterling, Kansas, with a mission to develop creative and thoughtful leaders who understand a maturing Christian faith. For more information, visit www.sterling.edu.
