The registration deadline for the Kansas Sampler Festival is January 31. Those who want be part of the 28th and final Kansas Sampler Festival should go to kansassamplerfestival.com or call 620.221.2420 now.
The purpose of the event is to provide the public a sample of what there is to see, do, hear, taste, buy and learn in Kansas. Musicians, entrepreneurs, food vendors, demonstrators, attraction directors and tourism promoters are encouraged to look at the criteria on the festival web site.
The festival is a project of the Kansas Sampler Foundation. Foundation assistant director WenDee LaPlant said, “We encourage anyone associated with something the public can visit or attend to think creatively about a display at the festival. We want to hear all ideas.”
Attendance at the 2016 festival, held in Winfield’s Island Park, was over 8,000.
Local director Sarah Werner said, “Having access to 8,000 people interested in exploring and getting to know the state is gold. If you’re serious about wanting more people to come to your attraction, event, or town, it just makes sense to exhibit or participate in this well-loved event.”
Werner said, “Our community loved hosting the festival last year and we can’t wait to showcase the state again this year.”
The Kansas celebration will take place Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, May 7 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
